Cheaper GoPro alternative?

Post by Matty »

Looking to buy my nephew GoPro style camera - around the £150-200 mark. Ideally one with a rear screen.
Most of the stuff around this price gets pretty poor reviews, suggesting you're better of paying the extra for a GoPro.

Anyone used anything that's decent?

What about finding a second hand GoPro or an earlier model?

I have an ApeMan: https://uk.apemans.com/collections/acti ... mera-a100s

It seems pretty good from the times I've used it, although I don't have a GoPro to compare it to. Battery life isn't amazing, but it does come with two of them and a huge array of mount and a remote control.

Second hand GoPro's are still expensive, and as it's a gift, I wouldn't want something that looked overly used. I did try refurbished, but there are no official channels for this, just people selling 2nd hand ones.

The ApeMan may be worth a go. At least it's cheap enough that if he uses it loads, we can look into getting him a proper GoPro. Thanks!
