Ukraine: Aid In / Refugees Out - Vehicle Needed - Funding Open
Re: Ukraine: Aid In / Refugees Out - Vehicle Needed - Funding Open
All of this will now be transported into Ukraine to help feed and clothe people who have been driven out of their homes and are trying to get to safety.

Not at all, he’s just trying to prove that you don’t need a proper welfare system because food banks support peopleZedLeg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 11:34 am Good effort

Today we’re helping two mothers and their children across to Wroclaw, about 500km from Przemysl. Circa 1,000km round trip in the van. Their entire lives are in one hold-all per person and a pushchair for the baby.
We left Uli at the camp because Russian / English translation is constantly needed, so she’s able to help people communicate and get to where they need to be.
We’re booked to take two mothers and five kids on a longer journey tomorrow, back through Europe. There are free train services and some free flights, but families with young children prefer a private vehicle as it’s much easier than flying when travelling with kids.
Talking to a Ukrainian mother earlier, she wanted to go to Spain. Why? Because that’s where her son wants to go. There’s not enough time to research and make a reasoned decision about where you want to live when you’re fleeing your country in such a hurry.

I'll be honest, those pictures of you buying up the supermarket made me tear up a bit. In a good way. Have bunged more into the gofundme

Thanks so much! We’re doing why we can we used more of the crowdfund money to buy another 20+ Kids winter jackets and thick socks to today to send into Ukraine. The refugee camps are soooo cold, they need everything they can get.
Also seeing a LOT of bumper stickers with this theme…

We’re loaded up with three women, two children, a baby and a dog who are going to Antwerp. First stop is Legnica - about 7 hours including stops - near the German border where we’ll stay for the night.
Your crowdfunding money will help to pay for accommodation and food - which we feel is really important, as these people could have been travelling for days and sleeping in shared dorms or cold tents along the way. Giving them a warm, clean room with a hot shower and a good meal before they go to their new homes feels like a really valuable thing to provide.
Tomorrow we’ll drive from Legnica to Antwerp - about 12 hours - to deliver them to their new homes.

Inspirational stuff guys, it really is. I've chucked some more in so you can hopefully help some more people.

Well done dudes. Great to see. Sent you a bit of coin

Thanks guys, really appreciate your ongoing support

The huge value in what you guys have funded is our ability to help women with young children and pets. These people are running away from their homes and then face navigating their way across Europe on trains and planes with no language skills or money. In the case of our current guests, they also need to look after a baby and a dog whilst travelling.
We’re driving them door to door with a translator on board, providing meals and somewhere to sleep, then connecting them directly with hosts in Belgium. Having direct transport in a private vehicle is literally a godsend for them.
Last night we stayed in a hotel and it was the first real bed they’ve slept in for a week. Hotel owner was lovely, giving us free food when we arrived late in the evening.
To give you an idea what we’re running away from, this is the town that our passengers have escaped from
