Some
Re: Some
All cruise ships look like tower blocks on water. No thanks. I'm sure it's appealing to be the mark targeted by thieves, con artists etc in the limited area around the port where you dock but you don't get any real view of the places you berth.
ETA: might be a more comfortable alternative to a coach holiday when I get old and incontinent, so I shall provide a further response in ~25+ years.

Re: Some
Yeah I doubted the veracity of that claim. Even just a 5min Google throws up though that they're utterly horrific in terms of emissions. Main issue being lax standards on port-side emissions in Europe vs. America, and a lack of port-side electricity infrastructure and the tax setup. Hence it's cheaper for them to sit burning through shitty fuel to generate their own leccy as opposed to being hooked up to an external supply.

I saw it a couple of days ago. I'm not saying it's a looker, but that vid is of the back end of the bus.

Covid and the tour this one's doing are getting people used to seeing them docked, normalising the view. Expect to see old ones permanently moored near you soon to get around planning problems for new towns.
