Ukraine: Aid In / Refugees Out - Vehicle Needed - Funding Open

Post by Gavster »

FUNDING PAGE: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ukraine-aid-in-refugees-out

SJ and I are planning to travel to Poland next week to deliver aid to the Ukraine border and then help refugee families travel back into mainland Europe.

At the moment we're putting everything in place and will be asking for aid or financial donations to support the journey.

HOWEVER, we also want to take the most effective vehicle possible, which would be an MPV/Minibus 7+ seater.

Does anyone have, or know someone who would be willing to loan a vehicle for one week to make this journey? Ideally something like a Mercedes Vito LWB or similar would be perfect. We would ensure the vehicle is fully insured and returned in the same condition.

This is a chance for you to help support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and rescue displaced families from the war, so please share this and if you can help, get in touch with me (gavin@brainfoodstudio.com) or Steve to discuss.

Crowdfunder will be live and shared shortly once it's been reviewed in next 24 hours...

Nice idea.

Can’t help with suitable vehicle, but might be worth an ask on the UK Disco3/4 forum? I still have a login - could ask if you like?

Edit: where in the country would the vehicle need to be located? I assume Aberdeen (for example) might be a smidge inconvenient?

Unbelievable virtue signalling from noted forum bully Sundayjumper ;)

Can't help with a vehicle but I'll chuck a few quid into the crowdfunder when it's up.

Amazing stuff.

Let me know what sort of things you'd be looking to take out and/or can chuck some money in to the crowdfunder.
Cheers,

Mike.

Nice one!

Don't forget about customs issues you will have crossing the border into Euroland and make sure to be prepared for a thorough cavity search by the French.

Once past Calais it should be plain sailing.

And FFP2 masks - they’re still mandatory in a lot of Europe

Suggestion - do any local schools have a mini bus they’re not currently using?

What’s your preference on items vs monetary donations?

So is it better to buy some sleeping bags and get them sent to you, or better for you just to get funding? Conscious timescales are tight…..
