Lego taskmaster! Love it

Re: Lego
Snap.
I know they need to do the modern stuff to sell the youth but the older models work so much better.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Re: Lego
And the Technic F1 McLaren has now been revealed. Looks a bit rubbish, frankly - and it's overpriced for something without much in the way of functionality or looks: https://brickset.com/article/70587/tech ... r-revealed!
Lego's own press release says it's the first Technic F1 car. Errr - no, it's not even close! There was the Silver Champion about 20 years ago which was an unlicensed McLaren Mercedes, then they used basically the same model in different colours as a licensed Williams F1, then they made a Ferrari F1 which was a little different but not much. I had forgotten the more recent generic F1 model they released in 2013.
Has Lego jumped the shark a bit?

£90, about what you'd expect for a licensed adult set

Re: Lego
Really feels like they’re starting to take the piss a bit.
Looks like about 3 speed champions worth of models / bricks or about £50-£60 max. Even that sounds expensive.

Re: Lego
Anybody ever sold their Lego collection? We're pricing up the stuff we have and ebay seems very hit and miss for price estimates. I think Music Magpie buy Lego by the Kg but I know we have a lot more in value than what they would pay. As we've a fair bit we haven't the time to build it all up. I had built up the Harry Potter castle as that seemed to be selling for a good price only to get no offers when I tried to sell it!
Any suggestions folks for where to sell it?

I haven't sold anything really, not for several years, but I see a lot on Facebook market place. Asking prices all over the place, certainly for retired sets. Loose stuff seems to go for £8/£10/kg!
Quite a few chancers on Amazon too, even with kits still listed on Lego.com.

Re: Lego
I've gone through ebay for rough prices so may use that as a guide. Would hate to sell it off per kilo so reckon it'll be ebay prices divided in half and sell as bulk.Barry wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 11:46 pm I haven't sold anything really, not for several years, but I see a lot on Facebook market place. Bloody scary working out how much we've spent on Lego over the years and its now worth a fraction of that

My little boy has got into Lego now - it's quite fun to sit down together and guide him through the instructions. We just completed the moving Hedwig one:
Which I thought was pretty good going - seeing as he's 4!

Re: Lego
It is amazing to spend quality time together making up big Lego sets. I've spent countless hours sat on the living room floor trying to build stuff in the correct order as the kids rush ahead building the interesting bits
