Trams.
Re: Trams.
Don’t you come from Sheffield? The city where trams were reintroduced 27 years ago? I guess you can probably answer your own question from personal knowledge.
Re: Trams.
Brilliant when the weather isn't great and the low cost, quick access to the airport is fantastic.
Its also a boost for Murrayfield as its a good walk from town out to the stadium.

Re: Trams.
I used to use the tram to get from Croydon train station to the office where I was working but that was so I wouldn’t have to walk through Croydon…
Re: Trams.
I think they're a step backwards. But I'm sure they reduce congestion and pollution for some areas.
Re: Trams.
Are you going on about that weight lifter again Broccers? Give the LGBT+ community a break will you!
Re: Trams.
I used to use the tram into Manc, from Altrincham. Far quicker and easier, cheaper too (no extortionate parking fees).
Better than trains and buses, quicker than both.

Re: Trams.
Fucking trams is the correct expression used locally.
Re: Trams.
No trams in London, but my preference is always buses over underground.
Re: Trams.
Aye
The Edinburgh trams were a council vanity project and mostly useless.
Edinburgh is small enough that you can walk around most of it and if you need to go further the buses are great.

Re: Trams.
Yeah Edinburgh... Trams are more of a Glasgow thing...
(sorry - someone was going to in this thread)
Re: Trams.
The one I used wasn't, it only stopped a couple times
Re: Trams.
Part of the plan to stop you actually moving anywhere.
Re: Trams.
I feel for anyone who has to drive from town to Leith more than once a year The whole road network is absolutely fucked. I'm pretty sure the spice heads can walk quicker from town and thats with a few lie downs included.
Re: Trams.
The proposed extension to the Tram route will sort that out
Re: Trams.
No one who lives there drives from the city centre to Leith. You can walk from Prince's St to the shore in about 30 minutes.
