People are realising that despite all the calls to stop racism and everyone telling them racism is abhorrent- that there is no consequences to their actions and can get away with pretty much anything on social media- worst case is they get their account banned so they start up a new one and continue to abuse the same person or move onto someone new

Because for everyone saying "maybe we should be doing something about all the racism and abuse on social media" you have some numbskull saying that free speech should be absolute. Ultimately both are seen as equally as important for the company because all they care about is engagement so they can harvest data to sell. They're amoral.
