Things the world never needed
1. Hard top for a 340R
Re: Things the world never needed
It's a bit.... A Prowler and a Carver got really really drunk and made a mutant baby.
How ON EARTH does it work though?

Gullwing doors by the looks of it
Re: Things the world never needed
Well that looks shit
Re: Things the world never needed
I remember a guy giving me a p ride at Croft in one when it started hammering down. They had to lower the tail lift of a truck and park it underneath to stop it filling with water. I bet he'd have been glad of it!
Re: Things the world never needed
That really doesn't work at all, does it?
I wonder how often you would want a hardtop on a 340R - I mean, what, was it too breezy on the motorway commute or something?
Gav, you could replicate that effect by having a large tarp with you. I'm not sure that must be deep, deep into five figures of custom fabrication is the best answer to that particular problem. I also bet it's an absolute cunt to fit and remove.

If you want a light, Elise-based Lotus with a roof, why not buy an S1 Exige?
Re: Things the world never needed
Bet you could buy a big umbrella that does the same job
Re: Things the world never needed
I’m inspired to buy a Mclaren Elva and put a roof on it now.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Things the world never needed
Wasn’t the main issue with them that they weren’t even close to the 340bhp/ton mark so just made 340 of them instead?
Cheers, Harry
Re: Things the world never needed
Yeah about 250bhp/ton in road trim. They did some even more stripped down ones that did hit 340 but they weren't road legal.
An absolute unit

With its own side mirrors? Requiring blanks over where the mirrors otherwise go?
Left over crest; tightens.

I've used a fishing umbrella for a parked Fiesta cabrio (and a normal one when driving) when the roof was damaged.
Shirley a 340R roof would only be any use if it was a quick plop on & off thing for storage
