I watched the Too Gear video where they compare the F1 to the T50 and have come away thinking the F1 is just a bit shit to live with :lol:

Apparently it is the car belonging to Flemke with a set of custom-made copies of the original wheels in a larger diameter, so he could run better tyres.

And now the T50S

Powers = moh
Mass = less
Manuel shift = non
Dow forces = moh
Prettiness = not very

I haven’t watched the launch vid or checked the £’s

@Mark_bt52 might be please to see the rear wing design claimed to be inspired by the BT52. Or he may not. I just don’t know.

It looks great from the front on, because it basically looks like an F1 lm. Every other angle - not so much...

I'm still not convinced we'll ever see it, or the t50 in production.

They both kind of look (ironically) like they've been designed by someone who doesn't realise you can make interesting shapes out of carbon fibre. The arch/wing shapes are just so dull - like they've been made in someone's garage out of fibreglass from wood/filler moulds. The only thing vaguely interesting about the shape is the fan on the back, and that's just ugly.

Just looks like something out of an early 2000s computer game.

I suspect it will be pretty heavily compromised for road use - if the suspension is set up to deal with 1500kg of downforce.

Will be a very expensive track car.

Would be cool to see it race in the hypercar LM24 class. But judging by Toyota's "effort" at an entry those regulations have been completely screwed up.

I liked the T50 concept, this variant is for laptime fetishists.

I watched a video about the T50s yesterday and the bit that really jarred for me was that rear wing.

It's a delta and "harks back" to a what, 30-40 year old F1 design?

Surely we now have better designs for efficient rear wings?

e.g. race cars and others now seem to use wings with the supports mounted to the top of the wing, so the underside is completely smooth.

And isn't that what Murray is all about?

Engineering over aesthetics?

It just seemed like a really odd decision.

It reminds me of the pretty basic Forza Motorsport aero tuning. Bigger splitter, rear wing, some canards and job done.
I don’t like how the new aero/bodywork past the front wheels making them look too inboard.
Wonder how much input and development Niki had in this. It can’t all be a marketing ploy.

I will be ordering one tomorrow.
Oh wait, manual gearbox only? I'm out.

(Oops I hadn't actually clicked the link, so it has a paddle shift after all, I assumed it was manual like the "normal" version. I guess I have no excuses then...)

Manuel for the road version
Non-Manuel for the track version

Does "optimised for track use" mean not road-legal?

It has a straight through exhaust which I imagine makes it both non road legal and non track legal :lol:

I guess so.

But as noted above - if the suspension can work well whilst the aero is providing 1500kg of downforce, I suspect the ride on road would be “a smidgeypoo harsh”

Not really into Super/Great/Hyper/Mega cars, but I appreciate the engineering effort going into cornering rather than chasing straight line speed and I have high hopes for it being a drivers car.
The track version seems decent upgrade in performance, I honestly can't comment on prices and value as can't count that high !
