Collecting Gear / Selecting Cars
Re: Collecting Gear / Selecting Cars
Needs to be RS blue, or it's just an old fast Audi!
I still remember seeing one in Switzerland when they were brand new, owned by the owner of the hotel we were staying in. Complete with arching m blue wheels too / looked incredible.

Nice! Will be interesting to see what it goes for. I don't imagine the steering wheel is very tactile, I'd probably change that.speedingfine wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 9:33 am https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1996-caterham-seven
Mint, and with *that* engine

Carl, you may joke but I clicked on that just a day or two ago. I still like Nephrite inside, but with a black dashboard and steering wheel. The exterior colour is great too, just perhaps not with Nephrite

I think I’ll be popping the Merc on that site when it’s finished and see what person gives me all their money for it

This looks likle a nice barge. 111 photos but no mention it appears to be two different shades of blue though.
I dunno why people put cheap cars on these pretentious sites - £2,000 for a car plus £600 minimum buyers premium doesn't really compute value wise.

Re: Collecting Gear / Selecting Cars
In the hope that people will bid it up higher than in other, less focused, sites? Does seem silly though, quite the percentage of the buying price to fork over.
Is this to scratch your barge/engine configuration itch?

Yeah I'm still mulling over buying something cheap and bargey this year. Seems to be an awful lot of shite about currently, I guess you need to get lucky and dip into a 1/2 owner someones died sale.

Yep, the 4 doors are definitely a different shade to the rest of the car. Wonder if they were a bit scruffy and swapped the lot for a tidier set off a breaker.
Cheers, Harry

I was going to ask but you have to register a debit card in order to ask a question, so fuck off.

Or removed and painted as the door handle surrounds look the same as the wings.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 8:49 pm Yep, the 4 doors are definitely a different shade to the rest of the car. Wonder if they were a bit scruffy and swapped the lot for a tidier set off a breaker.
I'd love something like that
Re: Collecting Gear / Selecting Cars
I was watching an auction just now coming to an end and I didn’t realise each time a bid is placed it extends the auction by another 2 mins.
It really is a massive cash cow for bugger all. Good darts by whomever is behind it.

Prevents sniping. IIRC DVLA do it with their online auctions too.

+1 I like this feature, especially on high priced purchases like these.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:40 pm Prevents sniping. IIRC DVLA do it with their online auctions too.

Exactly, it makes it like a real auction, it keeps going until everyone is done and had their fair chance.
Re: Collecting Gear / Selecting Cars
I remember seeing some early 996s and Boxsters in that colour at the local OPC. Quite nice, but in the wrong light looked really washed-out.Carlos wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:41 pm Is this a Full Jobbo ?
