OK - I am in the “CGI” camp - based on the lack of impact evidence on the (soft) mat floor. I’m not sure I would want to stake my life on it mind.....
Re: Randomness
Looks similar to those hard rubber interlocking garage floor tiles which don’t really deform unless you jack a car on them for a few hours. Cool robots though. Would love one to help around the house
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Randomness
I don't think it is CG, you can see the bipedal ones dig into the mat when the go onto the front or back of their feet. Also the wheeled one seems to sink into it more.mik wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 12:19 am OK - I am in the “CGI” camp - based on the lack of impact evidence on the (soft) mat floor. It would be weird for BD to do a cg video after spending years freaking people out with their spooky robots

I’ve only looked on the phone - I should probably watch on a monitor instead.

Re: Randomness
It looks CG because it looks kinda uncanny valley with the hip movements and balance, which up till now has only really been possible in CG with motion capture.
I'm more interested to know how much of it is programmed dance moves (motion capture base presumably) and how much of it is internal fuzzy logic - balance and compensation etc. I mean, that's where the cool stuff is happening here.

Re: Randomness
It must be quite galling to spend your life developing a robot so sophisticated it can dance and balance on one leg, only for someone on the Internet to call it fake as the assumed floor substance didn't deform as they expected
Next you'll be saying the incredibly complex and dangerous moon missions were fake as the shadows on the surface weren't exactly where you thought they should have been

Ah but you know you couldn’t have taken pictures in space. The radiation would’ve ruined the film

Pfft, the Van Allen belts would have killed them first, didn't you know?ZedLeg wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 10:52 am Ah but you know you couldn’t have taken pictures in space. The radiation would’ve ruined the film![]()
(Narrator: Van Allen himself says this is utter bobbins)

Re: Randomness
To be fair, being accused of being fake is probably the ultimate complement. It is absolutely bonkers.
Re: Randomness
I guess when English isn’t your first language, whoa-Lee shit is an entirely reasonable surprise response.
