No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
It is indeed excellent news, fingers crossed for him to be competitive.
I fear he may lose his 36-0 quali record, but you never know!

Actually that's probably a bit downmarket for Lando - Maldon would be more like it.

He's just trolling George. I think they're mates outside of F1.
Wonder if George could get his first win? Wonder what odds the bookies would have given you a couple of weeks ago for him to score points at this next race? Bet they've shortened considerably now!

If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
Re: No F1 thread?
Given he recently threw away his first shot at points by binning it behind the safety car I'd say he's got a lot to prove before that looks on the cards.
Re: No F1 thread?
He’s thrown away a few shots at points - reminds me of Hulkenburg and his podiums/wins situation in many ways. He really should get a podium though. This Bahrain layout looks like a pretty simple power fest.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: No F1 thread?
Quali chaos predicted isn't it? I'm sure I saw that it's a predicted 53s lap. So if all the cars were out at the same time they all be towing eachother round
Re: No F1 thread?
Yes it will be a bit like Monza but there should be plenty of DRS overtaking even if they get it wrong.

Re: No F1 thread?
That was pretty much his only mistake all season. He's managed to drag that dog of a Williams into Q2 on several occasions when it's really had no real right to be there and I think he's the only driver on the grid to have never been out-qualified by a team mate.

Re: No F1 thread?
I can think of two chances at most. A couple of errors in your first couple of seasons with a crappy car, jeez guys.
Alonso out-qualified Stoffel in a shitty McLaren all season and he is the class of the field.
Hulkenberg did choke a few times with a podium chance and was also a good qualifier but I think comparing them so early on is unfair.
I hope he qualifies well (which seems to be his specialty at the moment) as he seems to be someone who can pull a lap out and often did in the junior formulae, and has a solid points winning result. A podium could well be in the cards, when he has tested Mercs over the last couple of years he has been a fast and class act. He does look a little like Pinocchio though...

Re: No F1 thread?
I wasn;t aware that Merc had enquired about taking GR for next year during Bottas' contract negotitations. Apparently the then WIlliams management said no, so Bottas got the nod. Bit of an unfortunate twist of events for GR there. The oportunity to get in the team alongside LH would have been brilliant.
Chris Harris putting the conspiracy theory out there that LH has decided to retire at the end of the season and that this is GR's 2-race test to get the seat

Re: No F1 thread?
LH would be mental to retire when he'll more than likely pick up the record breaking 8th WDC next season.

3-1 on Betfair. Not much value there. Shows how much they rate the car. Bottas is 7-4.Delphi wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:51 am He's just trolling George. I think they're mates outside of F1.
