edit: that was filtering on £9-11k, Engine >= 3.0; Estate; Year >= 2012; <60k miles. It came out as this, which looks lovely, or a white 530d.
Do you get Mark Webber's phone number as part of the deal?

I think all roads do lead to a 330d, or a variation of.
I tried a C250 cdi today. On paper it ticked all the boxes, 62 plate, 52,000 miles, very well maintained, but it didn't feel £5000 better than the golf.
I think that's going to be the thing that I'm going to struggle with. Aside from the BMW, I'm not sure that I'm going to feel justified in spending an extra £5000 on something that does another 20-30 mpg. Maybe I'd be better just paying for petrol.

I'm going to see a 330d and a Mazda 6 tomorrow, I shall see what that brings.

 It's fully loaded, with low millage and looks relatively comfortable. Probably as dull as dishwasher.

If you want a comfy wafter and are still looking at random options then how about a Citroen C4. My parents’ one is like sitting in a spaceship. Wafts along, massive panoramic screen, digital dash in the middle. Doesn’t seem to have broken down on them yet.

Well, as we all knew I would, I've bought at 330d.
62 plate, Estoril blue, 11 services, adaptive headlights, probably other jazz that I've forgotten. Currently on 19's but they're being swapped out for 18's. Millage is higher than ideal, at 120000, but the overall condition of the car makes me think that won't be a problem.
Comes with a 3 month unlimited millage warranty, so hopefully any gremlins that there may be will rear their heads in that time.
Picking it up next Saturday.

Looks good, lots of miles, but I've had lots of BMWs over 100k.

This will be my fourth, two of those were over 100k, including my M5. I'm not too worried about the mileage, it looks well looked after, and regularly serviced. I don't see it being too much of an issue.

Nice. Mileage will be fine I'm sure.

Any particular reason for swapping the wheels over? Looks good on the 19s

If it's anything like ours, the lacquer cracks around the centre caps on those 19s which makes them look scruffy.

Rich is correct. They were looking rather scabby around the centre caps and on the diamond cut faces, I was offered the option to have them refurbed at cost, but having driven a friends 330, I found the ride was rather firm on the 19's hence wanting 18's
