What a shit week..
Purely venting...
A very good friend died this week of a brain tumour - she was 39, and fuck it hurts. Can’t imagine what the Other half is going through!
So that night, I forgot to lock the X5; and yep! It was ransacked.
Tonight, I was a first responder, and gave CPR until the ambulance left - I don’t think the guy survived, so I’m fucked..

Sorry to hear about your friend and I'm sure your input as a first responder was positive as opposed to no intervention.
As regards the car, I do it monthly. Park it and move on, it doesn't matter.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend
It sounds like the chap wouldn't have survived until the ambulance arrived had you not been there to administer cpr. He may have only had a slim chance of survival, but without you he wouldn't have had any.
The X5 getting ransacked shows that no good deed goes unpunished
Be kind to yourself, but by all means come on here and call me a c'nt if you need to let off (more) steam.

Wow, that’s a terrible week...
fair play for even getting involved with the CPR - an awful lot of people wouldn’t even be brave/caring enough to try, training or not. From the courses I’ve done over the years, the chances of success are pretty minimal, but obviously infinitely improved by actually trying still....
Hope you and the missus are ok asap...

That's crap, sorry Ian.
Re: What a shit week..
Really sorry to hear all this shit news Ian.
I lost my best mate 15 years ago and it fucking sucks! It took a lot of dealing with and really upset me for quite some time. I still think about him on a daily basis but with happy memories rather than sadness. I'm your family and close friends will help each other through it.
As for the car, well that just cunts being cunts. It's shit but insignificant really. And well done on the first responder action. As others have said, many wouldn't have bothered. Your efforts gave someone a chance of a better outcome but sometimes it just isn't enough sadly. Nothing else you can do but help.
Get better soon

Ugh whenever I hear someone dying from a brain tumour it takes me back to a bad place.
One of those weekends where you should just try and enjoy yourself.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: What a shit week..
Jeez - that is indeed a bad week mate
Awful wrt your friend. Life can be very unfair.
Car is frustrating but is ultimately just some re0laceable things. Humans can be horrible bastards to each other, but this issue is put into stark perspective by the above.
First Responder - you did more than 98% of the population would have been able to, and regardless of the outcome I am CERTAIN the guys family would be massively grateful for your efforts. Respect to you.

First responder stuff, nicely done, it’s an awful thing to see happen.
My colleague jumped into a Pool as a bloke was drowning, dragged him out and gave him mouth to mouth. The bloke survived and we were all told of his brave action in a meeting in Dalgety Bay.
The one comment from the group was.....
“So he kissed a guy and didn’t even know the guys name? Fucking tart”
Then the group dispersed
Dave!

Definitely a shitty week, but putting it into perspective, there’s at least 2 people in your story that had a worse one. Well done on the CPR, even with training it’s hard to remember what to do in the heat of the moment.

Re: What a shit week..
As everyone else says - a really normal outcome, but a totally abnormal situation and very, very normal to keep re-thinking it and wondering what else you could have done. Drop me a line if you need to de-brief.
And everything else... rubbish. Sorry mate.

The car is nothing, you’ll probably still forget to lock it but the important thing is that you did everything possible to help someone. It doesn’t always work out and I have been there myself, what it does though is make you stronger for the next time someone needs your help. Work through it in your own time and get yourself back together again and you’ll be ready to give something back to the world next time round, it’s people like you we really need in the world

Yeah that's a terrible week fella.
At least you seem to be a nice person as there are plenty of evil twats walking out there.

It is amazing what a kick in the nuts someone young dying can be, a school friend and childhood sweetheart died last year from Cancer at 43. She had battled it for a few years and fought it all the way.
You can see how "F*ck cancer" got traction as a slogan!
As others have said, car who cares, it is just stuff.
And bloody well done for stepping up, no idea the stats but if CPR is needed the odds are already heavily against survival but you tried and that will no doubt be of comfort to the person's loved ones.

What a properly shit week, but well done on the first responder work and as others have said, it will have given their over ones some comfort that you did all you could for them.
39 years old? That's just horrific and gives me the fear.
