^^^ that. Although your GP may struggle if it is out of your local area, unless this chap is some sort of national specialist.

Should be straightfoward then. GP just writes to Mr so-and-so and you should get an appointment. I assume the GP will already be familiar with your condition if they are giving you steroid injections etc.

It's not easy surgery so if it's worked for your dad then this guy sounds like a keeper (disclaimer: not my area, I last did orthopaedics in 2011!).
