Frankfurt airport

Post by V8Granite »

In-efficient, slow, mothering busy bodies and frustrating.

Went on a shuttle bus which was half empty, despite huge queue delays.
Revolving doors were manned, only 2 at a time.
Lots of
Moving walkways under scheduled maintenance.
LuftHansa being their usual cheery in-helpful self.

At least with Ryanair they don’t pretend to be good and efficient.

I will either be waiting at the airport for 5 hours or 12

Mumble grumble.

Could be a good hobby when retirement looms, moaning at airports, an international Vistor Meldrew.

Exactly my experience of both LuftHansa AND Frankfurt airport. My single worst flying experience was a combination of those two. I didn't think any airport could be worse than Heathrow but Frankfurt takes the biscuit. Unbelievably bad.

Chicago O'Hare - Friday Evening between 15:00 and 20:00 is the absolutely worst Airport Experience that one can face.

Multiply by a factor of 3 if coming off an internal flight and then flying Transatlantic

In my humble opinion of course

In contrast, Amsterdam airport yesterday evening was great. No queues at security and everything could go through the scanner in my case, no need to take laptop out or put toiletries in a plastic bag. The only issue was I couldn't choose to check in for easyJet on the self check-in kiosk and had to go to the desk.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Flew back through Frankfurt, god they must want to start start bringing stereotypes back don’t they.

Stern passport checking folk, in-efficient ways of trying to be efficient and a cabin crew on Lufthansa who all genuinely had no soul.

Plus the breakfast on the flight was a rubber omelette and what can only be described as a festering cabbage entrail.

I know a joke about the grumpy ATC in Frankfurt. :D

I found both Berlin Airports to be fine, I think it was Tegel and Shoensomething I used.

Tegel is terrible! Straight from the check in to the hard plastic seats in the individual departure areas with nothing to do before boarding.
