Meeting cancellations

Post by Simon »

Look, I know that people can't always keep a meeting appointment because 'life happens', but don't you think it's a bit rude not to check your diary more than 90 minutes before to confirm that the meeting invite you've accepted and been aware of for 3 weeks is actually still tenable?

Yes, I've come all the way up to London for a meeting, sitting in our London office (not my normal one) and less than 1hr till I'm due to meet a customer and they merrily email and say 'oops I'm double booked, can we reschedule?'

Who lives their life like this? The height of rudeness.

Cunts do. And they're everywhere.

I have to say that I would check up the day before if I was having to make a special effort. But hey - we're all wise in hindsight and advice to others, right

Yep, getting your secretary to send a "you still on for tomorrow" reminder is definitely worth it for things scheduled well in advance.

People with ADHD who schedule things for "not now" and then get surprised when "not now" becomes "now". I do it all the time*, but I'm also a cunt.

*I wouldn't cancel an external visitor who I knew had travelled.

Worst "I still live in the 1950s and have a secretary" post ever.

GG, do you get your secretary to start phone calls for you as well, before handing over to you?

Law firms being at the vanguard of progress as always.

Anyway, I have a separate office with a door too. I don't know about you but the old ways sound better to me

(In the interests of full disclosure, I share a secretary with about 4 other people so in reality she's more of a general admin assistant that does some typing. I don't ask her to do my shopping or book personal appointments)

Nor did I. I’d rather you call me a modern thinker who accepts that different people are into different things ;)

This got missed, I think. But emailing the same day as a meeting to cancel it? E-MAIL?!

Fucking cunt. Pick your fucking phone up and explain yourself rather than relying on the other person who you're fucking around to constantly check his email.

Meeting was off-on-off-on. Eventually they sent a stand in who was very useful and very receptive to our ideas. Thank fuck.

I hate going into London, even more so if I know it was a wasted trip.

I once traveled to Docklands office of a client to find *everyone* on the project had decided to WFH that day. FFS!

I've had meetings postponed between the time it takes me to lock my PC and walk up two flights of stairs to the boardroom for the meeting. Sat there for ten minutes until someone bothers to pop up and check we got the email. Fking no you moron, why else would I be sitting here enjoying the peace and quiet.

My colleagues all have laptops so they're plugged in 24/7, I'm trying to avoid that burden
