Square crisps used to be made by Smiths and they kept their brand identity when Walkers bought them out. Walkers have always used the wrong colour and refuse to change.mik wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:17 am Dear Points Of View. Why oh why oh why.....?

Green should be spring onion (a.k.a. the best crisps)! Red, ready salted; blue, salt n vinegar; orange, chicken; yellow, cheese and onion; brown, roast beef; pink, prawn cocktail (the worst crisps) etc.

Aussies - too lazy to have a separate word for an entirely different food group.
Crisps = chips
So they have define chips as 'hot chips'
And a pink bag here = salt and vinegar.
Prawn cocktail crisps are in the ethnic/world food aisle along with Bovril and Irn Bru.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Yes you do definitely need HOT chips, rather than the soggy boiled in lard version you get with fried fish in pommyland.
Prawns belong on barbeques, not in chip packets.

Crisp makes more sense than chip. A chip off something is not generally waffer thin. A slice maybe or sliver. Crisp describes it perfectly. Don't think I've ever thought it sounded posh, either a northener or southerner saying it!
Re: The lack of ISO standards for crisp packet colouring
Ah yes the well known silicon crisp, banana crisp and chocolate crisp, entirely logical.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 7:22 pm A chip off something is not generally waffer thin. A slice maybe or sliver.

None of those is waffer thin so succeeding them with chip makes sense. A Crisp is waffer thin and so succeeding potato with chip makes no sense at all. They are crisp though, hence the name.RobYob wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 7:42 pmAh yes the well known silicon crisp, banana crisp and chocolate crisp, entirely logical.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 7:22 pm A chip off something is not generally waffer thin.
