Check your excess etc,

Excess + any ncb loss + any increase in your risk could hit 4 figures.

Mik is right, you’ll potentially end up paying more than that in the long term.

This.

For £950, I'd pay it, although I'd be closely inspecting all black cars in the carpark for new paint for the new few months :x

Even if you catch the other person and get a no fault claim you will have to declare it and it will increase your insurance. If you own or are named on a few cars you’re almost always best off paying out of your own pocket unless it’s a big smash.
How about not having a sig at all?
