I hold doors open for everyone, Male, Female, any of the 57 other varieties of gender that now need to be acknowledged. I appreciate a thank you but don't get upset if they don't - I'll usually just mutter "you're welcome" under my breath and get on with my day.

This behaviour stems from the fact my first ever job was as a Bank Porter at 12 years old where, one of my main responsibilities was opening doors for people

My dad still gestures to stand when a women leaves or returns to a table. It's lovely to see and not in the least bit sexist. I used to do this but even I'll admit, it's taking chivalry a little too far these days.

I am that many years old. I’m aware of those characters

People who aren’t are making excuses for their own idiocy

And there was a Yogi Bear film released in 2010

My aunt had dinner with Roger Moore and said he was the most gentlemanly bloke she'd ever met, particularly cemented by the fact he stood up every time she left and returned to the table.

I'll hold a door open for anyone. I held the door for a bloke carrying a small box a few weeks ago, he rewarded me by declaring me to be a 'legend' 8-)

ETA if I don't get a thanks for opening/holding a door I can't help thinking "I hope you die today".

No point in chivalry now is there, yes I’ll hold a door open for most people and most do the same for me (it’s only really tourists in London that don’t, just doesn’t seem to be a thing outside the UK where they seem to like slamming doors in each other’s faces!) but we now give women equal rights thankfully so no need to show them any more courtesy than you would a man.

I take it that you're still an INCEL then mate? :)

I find the only way to impress women is to outsmart them and I've found the best way to do that is to do exactly what they least expect at any given moment.

So I'll hold the door open for the ugly ones and let it slam in the face of the pretty ones.

You've got to keep them on their toes or they'll run rings around you.

Old school manners. Do they exist now? I look on in amazement when out for meals how people eat. I'm one of those who waits for my fodder to go cold until everyone gets theirs, you know like you should. Then there's the right hand forkers.... and when the bill comes those cunts who give you 11 pounds 37p as that's their share with no tip.

In all seriousness, it’s usually the opposite in my experience - people insisting people don’t wait and then everyone chucking in too much money at the end.

Aye, that's my usual experience as well. Always end up with enough left over for a round of drinks once everyone has put in for dinner.

Funny you mention this as I went to Wagamama yesterday with a friend. They have this shit policy of ‘food is served as it’s made and will come at different times’. I got served first and waited 5 minutes for my friend to get his food but looking around half the restaurant had probably almost finished their meal before the person they were with got served! We actually had a running commentary about it on the people around us

Yes this happens in my life too. We are moaning about when it doesn't. Unless you like socialising with cunts all the time.

You're many things but having manners is right up there when I'm making an opinion of someone. I'll not go there. Thanks!
