It's when people take a nice watch and put a shit fabric strap on it, because reasons and lols and fighting and clubbing and watch forums.

All the guys on the tyre paint forum think mine look cool, and I’ve never had a tyre come off the rim since I did it. Draw your own conclusions.

I was blissfully unaware of NATO straps but if that is a typical example I am definitely in the "looks a bit shit" camp. So essentially they are like Animal straps but less practical?

Ah, not that kind! I probably weigh in about the same as that lads left leg! Animal did a fie range of watches a long time ago with velcro straps that stopped your timepiece flying off mid kung fu move!

Hard to believe a 90s fashion velcro watch strap is being compared to a military issue strap from a quarter of a century earlier :lol:
