Accidentally purchasing cherry infused versions of soft drinks

Post by mik »

It was 7up-Free <very small text> cherry flavour this time, but it applies to every cherry-ruined soft drink variant.

Jesus fucking Christ it’s like adding rancid donkey piss to a decent refreshment. I had to verify this with @Beany , of course, but I believe him.

I have proposed Pepsi Max <very small text> Monkey Spunk flavour to - well - Pepsi funnily enough. They are still considering it as they believe @Mito Man may be the only interested global customer. But he guzzles a lot, so it might still be a go-er.

Pepsi Max Cherry is my staple Subway meal drink. Nothing else will do.

Cherry Coke can do one though. Splitter!

I did the same thing and was laughed at for getting the wrong drink. The bottles are identical! (Pretty much)

I used to love cherry coke when I was a kid, but tried the diet version recently and it was indeed disgusting. I think the recipe has changed significantly in the ensuing 30 years.

I used to like coke zero when that first came out, but they ruined that with a recipe change as well. I suspect Pepsi max is now the diet cola of choice. Although potentially zero sugar drinks don't offer the benefits over full fat drinks that one might imagine depending on what you read.

I love the cherry versions, usually. Pepsi Max is one of the very few low-cal fizzy drinks which I actually like. Pepsi Max Cherry is awful; god knows how they got it so wrong when it should be very much my thing.

I see Cherry Coke’s can has been redesigned; I imagine people have been confusing the variations on Coke due to the tiny little coloured rim at the top. Terrible design which they’ve clearly noticed at last.

Cherry PepsiMax - fizzy pop of choice
Cherry Coke - Yuck
Cherry Dr Pepper - very nice
Cherry 7 Up - what is this, no need
Full sugar Cherry Tango - Give me a quiet room and 5 minutes

Much like how we are amazed our parents generation used to smoke in cars and think second hand smoke was not a problem. Our kids will look back at us and wonder what idiots thought chemicals in diet drinks wouldn’t make us grow extra toes etc.

Anyone saying that full fat cherry sodas are bad and the diet/low sugar ones are good is doing it massively wrong.

The diet ones are all gross, cherry coke is pretty good but the rarely seen Cherry 7up is ambrosia.

I don't mind them. I like the subtle vanilla versions though.
How about not having a sig at all?

I’m a recent Pepsi max convert, from a prior Coke addiction, and the cherry takes it up a notch IMO.

Without meaning to sound holier than thou, I'm surprised at how many adults are still drinking this crap 😆

I like a can or bottle of something full of sugar as a treat, I've got to get them where I can since I stopped drinking .
