Squashies, Aldi and a cover up that.....

Post by V8Granite »

goes right to the top!!!!

I’m a fan of Squashies, the Drunstick flavoured sweet with a white side and a pink side. Now a slight mixing of the colours is ok but a real Squashie eater always first bites off the white to then finish on a tasty bit of pink.

I’ve noticed though that when you buy Squashies from a regular supermarket or petrol station they are correctly constructed. Your correct white/Pink or Pink/white.

Now when you buy them from Aldi, they are all mixed up, some even white/pink/white :o I can’t even describe the horror of them being mixed longitudinally and many are streaky.

This has happened multiple times so I can only presume the Swizzels Mafiosa are selling cheap production line seconds in cahoots with Aldi to con the not so savvy consumer.

I will not rest till this injustice is proven and the blood of those involved runs warm down my hands.

A valid and valiant quest. 8-)

Although you do know that all the *perfect* ones are reserved for the monarchy? :?

I regularly drop one in the this sacred earth with a drizzle of port and say “one for my Lizzie” when a perfect example is found.

I have never seen a non-regulation Squashie, so am very interested in your manifesto and wish to learn more.

Is it just me or can you get a hint of coconut if you eat just the white bit of a Squashie with no pink? Or is that only if you're thinking about coconut at the time?
Cheers,

Mike.

It is a bit milky coconut I think, possibly the added sweetness.

Manifesto pledge - Hunt and kill all involved.

I’ve tried Bubblegum and Sour Cherry (I think) and both were a disappointment. Pretenders to the crown.

Dave, can I come over to yours for a sleepover 😂

The colour of the Bubblegum ones is enough to put me off ever trying them. Sour Cherry ones just don't sound like they would work. Rhubarb and Custard were quite good actually.

I did some work for a client whose HQ was next to a biscuit factory. That was the sweetest (no pun intended) gig rocking up there every morning, never grew tired of the smell.
Cheers,

Mike.

I had to google Squashies. If they've got a factory shop davecG60 could be onto a profitable sideline...
