People who...

Post by duncs500 »

... do a presentation or training on Ms Teams using PowerPoint and don't view the slideshow full screen. So you end up with a window inside a window inside a window and it's tiny.

Happened a few times over the last few weeks though, maybe it's more noticeable to me because I'm at home and don't have my monitor.

It doesn’t help that Microsoft make this so challenging.

Yeah, I'd be that guy who interrupts and tells them to put it full screen.

i don't even give it a second thought these days. The webcam goes on regardless - washing out, kid running round, making a sandwich, I don't really care. It's far more effective when you can see the other person imo.

Been a few teams meetings where someone with a mac or decent resolution display have shared their screen and its just a blurred mess on my 12in 1366x768 laptop screen.

What dinny said. The WFH is an intrusion enough into our home lives. You're not gonna see into my space too. The only time I use it is when we have a lunchtime casual meetup.

Yeah, this. Plus maybe it's just me but I can't help but think bad things about what said person that's off-cam might be up to or where they might be working from that they don't want anyone to see

I just know I'll end up throwing my eyes to heaven and "Oh for Fucks Sake" is very easy to lip read, even on Mute...

I've already had to start positioning my keyboard in a certain way to remind myself I'm presenting. There's been a few cases where I've started a sidebar Skype conversation, forgetting I'm presenting. Nothing bad but its only a matter of time when I start typing "Oh for fucks sake" with an eyes to heaven emoji... while presenting...

Well I have been chairing the Community Council Meetings and most of the other Councilors are.... older, and watching them eye roll or tut is highly amusing. I am just waiting to channel my inner Jackie Weaver!

Teams allows blurred and custom backgrounds, works well for me.

Yes cleverclogs but now Powepoint has Presenter Mode and other settings where others don’t see what you do : need to select “duplicate screen” so they don’t see the current slide at about 70% zoom, and the next upcoming slide at about 30% zoom. And and and and.

Yes - one extra click after clicking F5.
