Films that are too 'on the nose'.

Post by Simon »

Look, I get it. Introducing your characters to the audience is hard, and you need to do it early on so that everyone knows what's what.

But I'm rewatching the Bourne films, and 3 minutes into The Bourne Legacy, Ezra gets introduced as "You're the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States of America for gods sake'".

Come on. Make us work for it a little, yeah?

Football Factory is a guilty pleasure of mines and one of my favourite things about it is that Danny Dyer’s character just narrates what everyone is thinking all the time. No need for nuance

Once you start watching series and box sets etc you see films differently, scenes for no other reason that to explain a twist later on..
