Changing timesheets, pay

Post by V8Granite »

So, we have an excel form for doing our timesheets

So we put in a start time, finish time, if we are working, on standby, workshop, in country or rest of the world.

It worked really well as it went from the 21st to the 20th. So if you worked from....

21st March to 20th April. If you timesheet went in on the 21st of April you got all your overtime in April.

They then kept the old timesheet but changed payment from 1st of the month to last of the month.

Instead of changing the excel form to match they left it as it was so you ended up sending in 2 partial timesheets per month but if you sent it in on the 31st, you would not get paid till the end of the following month.

They then went to a company called Zalaris to handle salary, in 12 months they have made an absolute balls up of everything. Some people had no overtime for 6 months.

Now that Zalaris is all sorted and working smoothly, we are now changing to another company to do our salary and a new online timesheet that takes 10 times as long and will not work without internet.

I just don’t understand :(

Somebody has presented this as a cost saving (ignoring the extra time wasted by the workforce) and pocketed a big personal
Bonus for doing so.

Someone charging procedure for personal financial gain who has no experience of what they’re changing.
No. That would never happen. Not in a squillion years.
How about not having a sig at all?

I genuinely think there's a list of gullible companies out there, which gets passed around software firms. That's the only explanation I have for the amount of money a certain Bank pays for new bits of software, just like this, which are utterly dreadful. Its like the last 20 years of UI design never existed.

That and what mik says.
Cheers,

Mike.

Just over a year ago we launched a new time-off system internally. It went through ST, UAT and got sign off from all levels. Then it was released.

It was written in Flash FFS.

FLASH. A new app at the end of 2018 introduced in that POS.

We were all like 'WTF?'. A lot of our browsers even blocked it by default. Unbelievable.

They've moved it off Flash just 8 weeks or so ago.

The timesheet is already being fudged as it won’t let you continue travel for say 36 hours.

I can see this going well
