This, although a previous lymphoma will knock that down a few years, remission or no.

Also, broccers is 47? Blimey. You all make me feel young.

My parents have bags o cash squirrelled alway but the way my mum’s health and mobility are going, I suspect they are going to eat that away in care costs.

I've not owed a penny to anyone since being 31 so it's more a question of mortality.

Lots of people die in their 50s these days.
As I said, if you’re dead you won’t care because you’ll be dead. Your point is?

If i reach 50 then that'll be a big milestone for me.
My workaholic dad died in '86 when he was 49. Drank and smoked more than he should and had a high powered stressful job. I was 15.
I'm 49 this year so things are always on my mind. My brother is a couple of years older than me so he's made it 8-)
Then the next target is 60. Little steps I think but always good to have something to aim for. My mum didn't make much past 60 so we'll see how we go.

Current situation is what it is and I may be in a secure unit by then ;)
The kids no me and Mrs C have no money (it's all in the house) so when the time comes to retire we'll sell up and disappear to a cottage in the middle of nowhere to see our days out together (unless I'm locked up :!: )

I'll complete this topic as today I went to the funeral that sparked it.

As you cruise through life you bump into folk, in my case years ago at a bar, late.

My mate Kev lost his wife 3 weeks before Christmas. Not unexpected, she was a proper alcoholic.

Anyway he then died 5 weeks after. Always baffled me. Had 3 pints before going to work on nights.

Still can't believe it. Rip Kev..

Massive prick is the highest, one level below a standard cunt.
