Being offended
Being offended
Just been away with some fam who are mainly 20 years younger than my good self.
I've heard about snowflakes but never really have seen it first hand.
My sins included
Suggesting we split a bill for a table of 12 which was 20 pounds each (cheap).
Describing a gay couple I was sat with as gay.
Asking where the bar was in a salt mine.
There were others I forget as don't give a shit but god almighty what is the world becoming.

Re: Being offended
I know a couple of people like this, I now ignore them, they are boring, tedious and no fun to be around. They will eventually get the message when they are living alone with no friends as they fun sponges.Broccers wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 12:52 pm Just been away with some fam who are mainly 20 years younger than my good self.

Re: Being offended
I'm 46 lad.
The best thing is I can be particularly offensive when trying so it's quite astonishing with zero effort I was so bad one of them wouldn't sit next to me at dinner (bill splitting incident) Oh on that subject my other half actually got up and paid the whole lot as we can't be doing with such cheapness.
Re: Being offended
I will say that people who want to itemise big restaurant bills are almost as tedious as people who complain about offended snowflakes.
An absolute unit
Re: Being offended
What? I’m agreeing with you.
People who want to argue pennies rather than just chipping in an amount to cover the whole thing are a waste of time.

Re: Being offended
Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean they're offended.
What the fuck is even "snowflake" about splitting a restaurant bill, ffs? It's cunty, but people of all generations argue over it.

They said they were offended. Therefore they were offended. Not that hard to grasp.
Re: Being offended
Why didn’t you let them pay for everyone if that’s what they wanted
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Being offended
The problem is people who take the piss, know you're splitting the bill so intentionally order more expensive things than they normally would.

Re: Being offended
Do they?
Must remember not to dine with your lot.
I'm quite lucky my friends and family (my side) don't mind paying for the whole table so it's never an issue.
Re: Being offended
i usually find it’s the other way round, mates/family all putting in too much because they think they’ve had more than the average. It usually just gets left as an inflated tip because no one wants the hassle of trying to split it.

Re: Being offended
“It’s £18 each”
“I’ve only got a £20, who can give me £2 change?”
“Just leave it as a tip”
“No, we’ve already added a tip!”
I’m usually out the door at this point having dropped my £20 and legged it because I can’t be arsed

You're allowed to come for grub with me.
Re: Being offended
I'm not really a drinker, so it does annoy me when I end up contributing 50% more than what I have actually spent.
But you can't say anything. Thems the rules.
