To be fair, if it’s the 3rd time then they really shouldn’t be driving ever again.

My dad recently got caught for a second time after having a minor crash, the first time was about four years ago. He got a 12 month ban each time and had to retake his test after the first one. Not sure if he got a fine as well, but it seemed too small a punishment IMO. Thankfully he's sold the car now and isn't planning to retake the test to get his license back this time.

ETA: I'd hope that ordinarily it would be more for third time, but as it was ten years after the second occasion I'll guess a 12 month bad and fine.

Whose fault was the accident ? Drunk for the third time *and* at fault ought to get the entire library thrown at them.

2 year ban, I think it increases each time but don’t know if the 10 years ago part makes a difference.

One of my mates got caught (just pulled over, no crash), and he got a year ban and community service. The community service was an eye opener! He met some interesting people.

Shirley a jail sentence is a possibility, a ban (twice) clearly hasnt been a deterrent.

Someone caught 3 times is likely to be a habitual offender in my view.

I know someone who got 6 months inside for a third offence. Definitely less than ten years between offences though, and I think at least one of them was whilst already on a ban. Just been released after doing 3.5 for fraud. He’s a bit of a cunt.

I thought D&D in most cases usually started off at a three year ban then time knocked off for doing the course?

Well I expected they'd get a five year ban but it wasn't as hefty.
