Re: Interesting tow cars
Pan as in Panamera? They do an estate?
Re: Interesting tow cars
It's a better looking version but more of a hunchback than an estate: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/po ... rt-turismo

Really cool cars but they sure aint cheap!
Re: Interesting tow cars
Thanks, I only ask because the Cayenne is often listed as a 4.1 because 4134cc.Jobbo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 9:52 amI have no idea - I didn't even realise they kept making a V8 TDI that late. This Autocar article from 2009 (when the Q7 was facelifted) says the 4.2 got a power increase, so it may simply be that they kept fitting the same slightly tweaked Audi engine from 2009-2016: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/au ... -v8-tdi-seNathan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 9:42 amWould that 2015 Q7 have the Porsche Diesel engine by any chance ?Jobbo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 9:05 am If you want a silly engined VAG and a V8 is too small but a V12 is too big, and a normal V10 is not enough, how about a Touareg R50 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 8080942023
Frankly the Q7 V8 TDI is far more appealing though, and I don't like Q7s. Back to the Allroad BiTDI for me.
ETA: Porsche used the Audi engine anyway, not sure how they modified it themselves so it's possible Porsche's mods made it into the Audi version I guess...
Turns out they are both 4134cc but the Q7 is only 335 BHP and the Cayenne is 377bhp before it became a 4.0L which was over 400bhp

Re: Interesting tow cars
Away to drive an SQ7 this week, ample torque, well not compared to the V12 Q7 but the tech is way more advanced!
Re: Interesting tow cars
16.5t towing capacity should do it https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-ame ... b-ft/41039
Re: Interesting tow cars
10 tonnes more than a F150
I’m guessing they don’t have the silly towing rules that we do with our licences.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Interesting tow cars
I’d say the towing rules are very logical and well thought out. Can you imagine some chap barrelling down with 10tons of horsebox on the back of their dually in the UK. They wouldn’t even get up the first hill.

Look fine in profile in pictures, but JIC as usual, they're hunchbacked in the metal. Shame as I had one in my lottery garage until I saw one, Porsche must be kicking themselves.Jobbo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:56 am It's a better looking version but more of a hunchback than an estate: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/po ... rt-turismo

Re: Interesting tow cars
Not much in it then
Later model would give you only slightly less worry that the gearbox might turn to chocolate every time you pressed the accelerator?

Been out test driving driving Porsche Macan's, I think that's my next daily driver!
Re: Interesting tow cars
I've went in on an off road trials 4x4 with my mate so I'm using it as an excuse to buy something that'll tow it and go off road a bit .
Currently leaning towards something like a Land Cruiser (full size one) or Patrol. Really like this.
