Goodwood Revival
Goodwood Revival
I meant to post about this earlier but its been a busy week - anyway, I attended my inaugural Goodwood Revival last weekend. Was a great day with lots of droolworthy metal, a fun vibe overall and very kid friendly - our three year old loved it... oh yeah, and screaming unsilenced 60s racing cars
I've put a few photos down below and also a couple of clips of the Whitsun trophy - worth sticking on a good paid of headphones for those as the sound is pretty epic - some great racing too with three GT40s battling each other lap after lap in the midfield and a couple of 908 Porsches racing close together too.
View over the 'pre-tax' car park. An event in itself.
Cool 3 door Rangies
Harry's Turbo 'GT2' still up for sale
Mega droolworthy stuff at the Rennsport stand
Fun watching the racing with his cousins

Looks like a cracking weekend. I went in 2005 and tried to go about 4years ago but decided to try and die instead.
I must go back at some point.

I was rather taken with this, black with gold wheels always wins.
Re: Goodwood Revival
Ah fuck it, can someone tell me how to get jpg links off the imgur app? Or de-Barry it, I don't have access to a computer at the moment.
Re: Goodwood Revival
Saw the first of the two touring car races, which was good fun, Karl Wendlinger trounced the field in a big old Studebaker Silver Hawk, by quite some margin. Disqualified for technical infringements though apparently.
There was a black Mk2 Jag in there that sounded absolutely evil.

I'd like to go and see the cars and the racing, and a wander around the car parks, but the aspie side of me just can't comprehend enjoying the fake themeing and dressing up nonsense.
Cheers, Harry
Re: Goodwood Revival
to be fair, absolutely everyone is dressed up, so you’d feel a bit of a berk walking round without.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:16 am I'd like to go and see the cars and the racing, and a wander around the car parks, but the aspie side of me just can't comprehend enjoying the fake themeing and dressing up nonsense.

You could also just put overalls on and daub oil on your face if you don't want to go down the waistcoat, tie and flatcap route.
Word is that will get you free entry into the 'Justin Trudeau's Arabian Nights' tent next year.

Which is why I wouldn't go. I'd feel like a very dressed up, stick out like a sore thumb not. I want to go to an event not feel forced to take part.Rich B wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:21 amto be fair, absolutely everyone is dressed up, so you’d feel a bit of a berk walking round without.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:16 am I'd like to go and see the cars and the racing, and a wander around the car parks, but the aspie side of me just can't comprehend enjoying the fake themeing and dressing up nonsense.
