Travelling the entire length of the country and back isn't essential, so no.

Just a good ol' Rev,
Never meanin' no harm,*
Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law since he day they was born.

Makin' his way South.
The only way he knows how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Yes, a car transporter company would have a pretty hard time moving cars working from home

i know, I was asking a question not telling you what you were doing.

It’s an interesting thing though, it’s ok for a car transport company to get a car because as OC says, they can’t work from home, but not ok for someone to go out and collect the exact same car themselves.

Joking side for a moment, someone driving their own transporter between 2 locations isn't likely to spread or contract anything assuming they're careful about distancing etc. whereas me going on several trains is.

Totally agree.

But if you’re comparing the choice to get the car now (which does mean risk to someone) to not getting the car now (Which eliminates all the risk), then it’s just down to price.

If the transport company had come back with a cost of £100 to get it, then you (and most people - me included I expect) would say go for it.

Al about Individuals risk assessment I suppose.

I think £150 is about the point where I’d cave in.

If it does 8 to the gallon and you've paid £100 train fair how much does that cost you assuming it doesn't breakdown ?

Where on Earth are you getting 8 mpg from?! It has a 2.73:1 rear diff and an insanely high overdrive 4th so 70mph is about 1900rpm. They do low-to-mid 20s US mpg so mid-to-high 20s UK on a motorway run. Some people even claim as much as 26 US mpg which is 31 UK mpg from the 305 TPI motor I have.

The cost for me to drive it back isn’t really important. That’s part of the buying and bonding experience.

It runs fine. It definitely won’t be doing 8 mpg.

It’s about 240 miles, so I figure maybe £65 in fuel.
