Re: Baggy Boxsters
I thought it was a gamble, but then I'm up for that.

Its interesting for similar power you can get in a slightly newer 265bhp 3.0 z4 si. Might even be a sought after car one day. Fun looking at 5k cars and seeing what potential money pits are available https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-BMW-Z4- ... SwxIldqzhl

That’s nice that. I like the colour. Sports seats would be better but not a deal breaker.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 10:42 am Rev's place in Reading have got this Boxster atm, 2003 3.2S:

MOT history looks ok also; not driven much in the last few years though and probably need new exhausts.
What do you reckon? £4250?

'My' mechanic (who normally prefers to deal with old Lotii, american muscle and old VWs) ran a Z4 3.0 through the summer, and really enjoyed it - then punted it on for no loss, just fuel costs.Broccers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 1:31 pm Its interesting for similar power you can get in a slightly newer 265bhp 3.0 z4 si. pick one with service history and sensible miles and if you have £4-6k kicking about, it's an effectively zero cost, fast, reliable, fun motor at this stage.
Give it a few more years and I expect they'll trough, then good ones will get rarer as they get expensive to fix, then start rising as only the good ones stay on the road - they're good looking, powerful cars, so will likely do the usual BMW thing of being common, being fucked, then being rare and comparatively pricey.....
Re: Baggy Boxsters
I'd have a Z4 over a Boxster every time. No other reason than an irrational dislike of boxstersBroccers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 1:31 pm Its interesting for similar power you can get in a slightly newer 265bhp 3.0 z4 si. Liking the Boxster colour, but baggy Boxsters? Madness.
Z4 coupe is Could you get a sunroof in them?

Re: Baggy Boxsters
Are Boxster at about £4k actually going to be any good? Was chatting to my BIL who's looking at TT's, MX5's and others around that point, and we had a chat about cheap Boxsters...but all the ones I looked at seemed ropey at best...
