You could say that about anything remotely interesting, though. What's the alternative, leased Golfs for the rest of my life?
Point I was making was fix the car with the proper engine, or walk away, fuck the LS.

I know where Foz is coming from, you’ll spend £25k for a garage to build you a slightly scruffy V8 911 that’s done 130k miles and may always have issues to contend with, when for that money you could just buy a fairly recent Mustang/Camaro that you can bolt go faster bits to at home or a 997.

All of which will be slower and/or handle worse. A 997 could be just as unreliable as my 130k 996.

Mines had 25k spent on it in the last 4 years. And still costs me money. As yours was a cheap car, keep it that way, otherwise the bargain will cease to be that.

The car makes absolute sense if you keep it sub 10k, as I all well know they can swallow money like you wouldn’t believe :lol:

Yep if you’re gonna be £25k deep to stick a V8 in a 911 you should just go buy something with a V8 already in it.

Oh yes..

Don’t have the invoices in front me but the reason for buying was:

Engine 12k
Rads & condensers
Clutch
Exhaust back boxes
I went through the invoices and previous owner had spent just under 20 grand in the 5 years he owned it.

I mean it’s pretty much sorted yeah :lol:

Since I got it:
Suspension refresh 2k- coffin arms Bilstein B8’s and various other drop links, arms and shit.
Wheel refurb and Michelin tyres 1k
Coils, plugs, MAF and a full service 1.3k
All Breaks inc caliper refurb 1.5k

It’s only done 66k

Bit of a gap though, bottom end V8 Mustangs are £28k and more like £32k+ for something which doesn’t have a questionable past, supercharger kits from somewhere reputable are £15k. That’s a big gap from the £8008 spent on the 911 so far.

I’d be solid roller cam, CNC heads with appropriate valves etc for that power. I’d probably limit it to nearer 8k but build for 9.

Should be a nice build. If you're stuck for someome to map it, I know of a guy in Oz who is really good - he will map it remotely using a rolling road near Chester.
