Alex insured my 996 and they were really competitive for performance stuff but not for the white goods.

I've been with Admiral for ages and they've always been good on price. I'm about to move the Porsche to Reis though, for a specialist motorsport policy. Waiting for a price from them.

Manning UK were about half what the confused meerkats could quote me on the elise and they include trackday cover.

A taxi from the station will probably take ten minutes, so you'll be there about 11:30 ?

I'm in Aldermaston during the day, about 20 mins away, so I can pop over to do a quick bit of pointing & laughing.

If you're wanting lunch, The Cunning Man would be a good call. Just a couple of minutes away.

Yep, that sounds like a good plan. I've been practicing the secret Shonky Porsche Handshake.

Just for clarification is it like the Nescafe, shaking coffee beans one??

Try Competition Car Insurance, I just insured the Spazda with them. Includes cover for five track days with approved organisers as well.

And good purchase! 8-) I'll just leave this here:

Probably not around on weds but I’m sure it’ll be a lovely drive back up north.

It looks like a good thing you sniped it right at the death. That seller was outed on pistonheads for shill bidding. Looks like they had a crack at that one too, along with the Boxster S I started watching.

Looking at Revs auction and this Boxster:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273912115957 ... 1758.m4704

There's a few low feedback accounts that seem to only bid on these auctions to push the price up.

I think this post from the PH thread is probably fair:

If you're looking for something cheap that you can nurse back to health then it's quite a good place to pick up a bargain. I'd happily buy an MX-5 from Sterling, I wouldn't buy a Range Rover from them though!

I'm going in with my eyes open. In fact, that thread gives me confidence in buying of them, if anything. I might try and find a fault to get me a 50% discount like that bloke with the Passat

I only came across that stuff as I couldn't find them on eBay searches and wanted to see if they had any other Porsche bargains, googled the name Nathan mentioned and it all came up.

I still think as long as it proves sound (like not knocking it's tits off or spewing coolant) it's a good buy as it was won with a bid at the death where they couldn't play their game.

I briefly saw this thread on holiday and thought it looked a bit tatty on my phone. I assumed it was the phone making it look worse, but no...

Bravo Dave, and I'm genuinely interested to see how this pans out.

I've been following a reader's thread on PH of someone that's done similar - you seen it?

They've just sold this one too:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273907390952

It's not been relisted... yet. The bidding history of the "winner" is highly suspicious though, bidding on 35 items in the last 30 days, ALL of them with the same seller

Robbie, still not yet hounded off PH. We're clearly better at it here.

Doesn't look particularly tatty to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Shite photos for sure, but half an hour polishing up the headlights would make it look loads better.

I'll bet the drivers seat is saveable or at least could be made more presentable with a scuffmaster kit or similar. Worked really well on the sports seats in my compact.
Cheers, Harry

I got a PM off a guy on Twitter to join 911uk. There were a few people interested in this car on a thread on there, including one who bid £8000. BOOB FTW!
