If you could have a circuit race car, but only one....

Post by mik »

This could be one in a series of threads; but this one is for circuit racing cars. Not rally cars, motorbikes, hovercraft etc.

Inspired by this most excellent and tempting proposal.....

But for me I think it would have to be a Sauber C9.

Luckily there is one for sales HERE

Old V10 F1 car. If you can only have one you might as well pick something which results in a soiled racesuit each time you get in it.
How about not having a sig at all?

I’ve always enjoyed catching the older Toyota trophy trucks....

Which counts as they now do this....

Everything else I like the idea of would be frustrating as I’d be woefully inadequate as a driver

+1 hence no F1, Group C, icons like GT40 / 917 etc

So, probably something like 90s DTM, 993/996/997 Cup car, Prodrive Ferrari 550, Lotus Cortina etc

My favourite DTM in my favourite livery:

I prefer race cars that are like road cars - no F1, no LMP etc

My choice, this

Probably a 911 cup car, just because of the sheer amount of racing you could actually do with it!

Factory race cars are awesome things!

Peugeot 406 BTCC car, a 1997 one would do.

If BTCC I might go for an 850 estate, or that Alfa.

Otherwise, hmm, the one that pops into my head is a Blancpain Lamborghini.

Or an F1 car, pick a vintage.

Oh, you said one :(

Pretty much anything is acceptable, but you'd choose something FWD if it was the only one you could have? :?

FWD race cars are more lairy than RWD ones in my experience, everything is done to eliminate understate, so rake and a really stiff back end to get it turned in and rotate.

Turn in hard on the brakes, if it does swing round just boot it and power out of it, it’s great fun!

All of that.

Watch Andrew Jordon take pole round Thruxton.
