Yeh its pretty stupid going flat out on such a busy touristenfahrten. The GT2 RS very nearly went into the back of him/the barriers at one point (3:20 onwards).

Well, if I never wanted one before, I want a GT2RS even more now - although I guess it'll have to be an old one rather than one with that slurring box change

TBF the pair of them were showing pretty poor etiquette, barging people out the way without first being shown the signal.

Whilst they do appear to be driving like a pair of dicks for the most part, the one thing that video has shown me is that the GT2 RS looks frighteningly good on the brakes in comparison to the Performante.

The Performante looks like it's really heavy and every now and then physics reminds the driver.

Edit: turns out it's not particularly heavy and is lighter than the GT2. Go figure. Performante 1382kg, GT2 RS 1545kg.

I'm kind of impressed that the Performante is allegedly the same weight as a 996 C2.

1545 is the "EU unladen" weight quoted on the Porsche website. No idea what that actually means, though

By comparison, the Lambo quote 1382kg as "dry weight".

Yeah, just looked into it, 1470 is ‘DIN’ so all the fluids, ‘EU’ adds 75kg accounted for the driver.

Lambo figure 1376kg is DIN.

A chap on PH had his 996.2 GT3 weighted (with the heavy comfy ‘chairs’ rather than buckets, and IIRC 1/3 tank of fuel, 21L) and it came out 1380kg, which matched the official Porsche figure.

The Lambo weights the same but with 200+bhp more

Oh is it ‘dry’?

Lambo website isn’t clear so I assumed DIN.

The recent GT piece versus the 917 gave the GT2 RS's weight as 1800kg but I did think that seemed way too heavy.

I don’t think that Lambo driver is very good at all. Wholly average IMO. Weird breaking, especially into the final corner. Weird steering to hit apex’s, rather than hitting them naturally.

Very aggressive driving too, especially for a tourist lap - where the 911 almost crashes into him at Wehrseifen, and around Hedwigshohe/Wippermann where they’re forcing that Golf off the road almost. Those are both difficult parts of the track to drive, more so than they often look, and these guys in their very expensive cars, especially the Lambo, aren’t doing anyone favours there

I think he’d benefit from doing specific track days, rather than TF.

Stuck in traffic this morning with a blue GT2RS, it looked awesome!

It looks very stable in that video, whilst that Perf looked like it was moving around a lot; may have just been driver skill though.

I was at that TF on Friday, it was madness, more so than usual. I got run off the road twice when passing meandering cars and there was a huge crash in which people were thrown from a small hatchback when one of the doors was ripped off as it rolled maybe 10 or so times.

I drove on Saturday and Sunday too and it was a bit better but combination of nice weather and Easter weekend made fast lapping amongst all the traffic almost impossible.
