Was at Mortimers today and they had some extremely tidy 911s in the high teens. Get one now before they start going up in price!Orange Cola wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:07 pm Stop it. I want a Porsche now but the only ones I’ve ever had a go off (Macan, Cayenne) are beyond utterly crap

Long chat with one of the technicians at Mortimers who said they found the most bore scoring on 3.8 911s of that era and not had much in the way of problems with the 3.4.

Those are both VAGs, aren’t they ? 911 et al are obviously rather different.Orange Cola wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:07 pm ...the only ones I’ve ever had a go off (Macan, Cayenne) are beyond utterly crap

Porsche SUVs should come with the slogan “the best choice for drivers, shit for passengers”
How about not having a sig at all?

Yes they are. I haven’t driven a sports car Porsche, my other half used to have an older Boxster and isn’t fussed about going back to one. I’d like to try a 911, I know I’d either love it or hate it.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:55 pmThose are both VAGs, aren’t they ? 911 et al are obviously rather different.Orange Cola wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:07 pm ...the only ones I’ve ever had a go off (Macan, Cayenne) are beyond utterly crap

Indeed. They’re unique in the way they drive. You do need to try one - even if you hate it, at least you won’t wonder any more !Orange Cola wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 4:42 pm I’d like to try a 911, I know I’d either love it or hate it.
There’s enough 911s on the forum now we should have an OV9 911 meet or trackday, those that are 911-curious welcome too

Within 5 mins of the test drive of my old Carrera, I knew I had to have it. Poker face failed; the salesman knew the car would sell itself.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:52 pmIndeed. Oh really? I should be there later this week, all being well. I’m in Oxford, so it’s 45 min away from me.

What colour is it, couldn't see it on the Northway site

I don't understand. Was fully expecting a 'which Boxster to get' thread to end up with the purchase of a diesel Golf, or similar.

I guess I could get one too as a second car? In case I need a bit more practicality?
