New car, Golf Clubsport S
I don’t feel well acquainted enough to do the guessing game, so here is my new car, collecting on Saturday

It’s the old car of “Sideways Sid” of modest youtube fame.
I have a regukar MK7 golf gti at the moment and I absolutely love it, more so than my GT4 in many ways, but my current GTI loses composure over about 8/10ths driving. I’m hoping this car will correct that problem comprehensively.
Who approves/disapproves?

Re: New car, Golf Clubsport S
I get it back on Monday . They eventually had to change both strut towers because the geometry was out with the stress of the “droop” being transferred by a strut brace to the other side. Or something like that. They also changed the wheel, tyre (although not damaged, I’m asking them to keep it back for me) and I think the shock absorber too, excluding the spring presumably, which was fine.
Re: New car, Golf Clubsport S
Massively approve, I’ve been watching them creep down in price and I want one.
Re: New car, Golf Clubsport S
Nice. Always thought the GTi was a better looking car than the R, even more-so in Clubsport. £28k for a used Golf! What a time to be alive

It’s CS58 ABY. Sigh. Although I already know I’m not going to bother changing it

Indeed. I drive permanently with my rear seats down and loads of stuff in the back anyway for work, so it genuinely will be used as a van.GG. wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 3:12 pmNice Van!revsRus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 2:54 pm I don’t feel well acquainted enough to do the guessing game, so here is my new car, collecting on Saturday

Nice. I recently test drove a Clubsport and liked it. I know the S has specific parts like the subframe and extra -ve camber but I’d still take a non-S as a hatchback with 2 seats seems daft to me. However you saying you’ll use it as a van makes more sense I guess. Enjoy!

Top choice! Also out that you'll actually use it.

As the owner of another two seat hatchback, I thoroughly approve
Coincidentally I was just looking at these on AT - I had a thought that one of these could replace the GP2.

Nice! The Megane R26.R and Trophy-R seem to be very collectable so given it's excellent reviews I can't see this being any different. Great to buy one to use it rather than pamper it.
Left over crest; tightens.

Love these Pete, great shout.
