Never have such astounding performance stats looked so undramatic. :(

Imagine spending millions on a car which is so fast yet so lacking.
How about not having a sig at all?

Those Rimac times are frightening. Pretty sure first video showed a 0-100mph in 3.6 and 0-150mph in 6.6. To put that into perspective, Autocar tested the new GT3 from 0-100mph in 7.5. Basically by the time a GT3 hits 90mph the Rimac will already be at 150mph

Would still rather have a GT3 though.
Ah, looks like I was reading the 1/8 mile speeds

From the first vid.
1/4 mile, 8.58 167mph
1/8 mile, 5.64 132mph
Bloody hell.
Left over crest; tightens.

8.5 is a bonkers quarter mile time. Drag cars that fast need a parachute

And a reminder that the Rimac is quicker still than the GTR here.

I won’t try to answer for Mito, but for me - drama? When I see the numbers I realise that suggesting it is undramatic is rather stoopid, but it doesn’t even seem to struggle for traction - it looks like my mum (who is up there with the worst of drivers) could get it to do the same times. Like sitting on a rollercoaster, but you get the privilege of pressing the start button. I dunno….

Maybe it would look more interesting doing a track lap? Drag strip isn’t the most exciting…

For fun, I’d honestly rather have an AX GT than one of these.

If I was a squillionaire it would be an interesting toy but there is no want factor for them at all.

EVs are great for commuting, I wouldn’t pay to have anything remotely special in an EV form though. We only have 5 basic senses and you’re taking away a big one with an EV so it won’t ever measure up. And when you take it for a drive on an actual road I feel like it would be no better than most other EVs. At least when bumbling along at legal speeds in other silly cars you can provoke the engine a bit and the sound alone raises a smile.
In a Rimac you’ll just floor it for a second, feel uncomfortable and notice more wind noise…

Then there’s the whole aspect of what happens when it gets older. Old cars which had great drivetrains or even just engines remain revered even if the rest of the car has many flaws. So what happens when you have something which will be improved upon in every single way by the next version of it, because at this point it’s no different to buying a new mobile phone.

Nail on the head, drag racing AWD road cars with traction control isn't that challenging, having your face seriously compressed into your skull wouldn't lack for excitement though in my opinion.

I would LOVE the challenge one of these mega EVs on track though, at that point who gives a rats about how it sounds.

And if you love aural stimulation, buy an old muscle car, there's no cooler way of going slowly.

People should stop defining driving EV enjoyment in ICE terms, you get into similar endless circlejerks as Bike v Car.

Out of interest, how long/many miles would a Rimac last on track giving it full beans? (Given that a track is pretty much the only place to use even a fraction of its performance?)

Take away sight and I think you'd find the acceleration of a Nissan Leaf pretty dramatic.

There's a third way, if you have 6 figures to spend you can build something like this

Will run 6 second quarter miles and do thousand mile road trips pulling a trailer. The best of both worlds
