I have a terrible confession. I don't actually mind Shmee any more. I saw a vid of him driving at the 'ring and he's actually pretty decent and has clearly put a lot of effort into it. Somehow that made the rest of the videos more palatable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not interested in the "why I chose this colour/leather/specification because it's thuper rare" or "I'm now taking thith car to get paint protection" videos and the like, but I can actually sit through one of his videos without wanting to inflict horrible pain on him.

I know. It would have been more socially acceptable to admit I was into pegging or Morris dancing.*

I'm not, I can't stand Morris dancing.

Checked out his YouTube page and he calls his cars Schmeemobiles in the title of the first video I saw.

You had one, didn't you Matty?
Many years ago yes, when ropey ones were £5k and good ones were £13k  They're very much of the era in how they drive. Cool AF, though - out of all the cars I owned it was the one that most people approached me to talk about.

Mine had something of a hard life before I owned it, though....

I always really liked them. Until the RS4 was launched - at which point I lost all interest.

Same as a lot of 80s / 90s icons. Mental money now.

Yeah same, I’m generally a fan of RS Audis and the RS2 is an interesting car but if I could pick one it would be a B5 RS4
An absolute unit

I just wish I’d had more space and more money about 10-15 years ago when all the cool cars were cheap

As a classic, the B5 RS4 beats the RS2 for me. It's still properly quick, it has those pumped arches and it looks just right. Set the template for RS Audis for the future in a way the RS2 didn't.

I'd still rather have a more up to date RS Audi than a B5 RS4 though...

Rich, what do you think of Doug De Muro?

i've not watched any of his stuff - I'll check out the RS2 one and report back with a controversial opinion.

I gave up on Doug DeMuro after I watched him give an in depth guide on how to use the air-con in a CL65.

I love both, would prefer an RS2 personally, but still love this Evo story:
