Look at all the muck the arse dumped in the river though
I drove along and up The Devil's Staircase last week when the storm was in full flow (and in the dark in the small hours) and I had Rufford in mind whenever I came across a flooded bit. I've no idea how deep the water was, none of them were fords so there weren't any markers, but looking at bits afterwards there was a heck of later about to get to road level in the first place

So any guesses if its possible to drive fast enough to aquaplane across the whole ford? The 3 series made it half way before sinking

Yeah, I’ve seen a couple doing a decent job, one being a recent shape Astra from memory. I guess you need decently solid under trays and not too low that the front bumper digs in.

A small car - i10 or the like - did a good job in an earlier vid, I'll see if I can find it.

I hadn't watched any M539 vids before but you've got me intrigued with the B7; liking what I've seen so far, from the fault finding to the simple & basic "it's wrong, make it right" rather than "that'll do", even if getting there isn't always simple or basic :D

Er....

Yup, the E60 M5 bottom end job looked a lot more straightforward than that.

I have no idea how he managed to not catch himself going "oh fuck oh shit" on camera with that one.
Editing. You just know there was a fuck tonne of swearing behind the scenes

Gives a whole new meaning to buying an old nail though...
Oh I know how editing works, thinking more when he's pulled stuff off (which I'm sure he's not put back on to redo without swearing, over reacting etc) and sees the horrors he's got himself in for.

He just seems to be hugely calm and matter of fact about what is a massive, complex, expensive and difficult job.

That said, he's not a moron, I expect he bought the project knowing there was a good chance it was going to spend a fortnight blown across his garage space in bits :)
Well, the swearing will have got a lot worse. Update on his Patreon is cylinder 4 scored, and scoring in 1 and 2 as well. Potentially scrap block :(

A few of us were at this show on Sat, quite an eclectic mix of cars and people, thoroughly enjoyable stuff. A good excuse for a few forumites to meet up again too, Mike Swerv, MattH, Ben, Coaster/YK. And Aquadrome/Rich Porter was there of course

Blink and you'll miss us, I'm in the Beetle pan, Matt shows up later on I think :D

Yes decent day out that. Good to meet Mike finally.

I enjoyed having a nose around the new EVs and other new cars like the Alpine.

Nice. 8-)

None of you displayed your cars? (I have no idea what the rules for that were, or how restrictive that would have made it).

Matt had his 306Gti in the main carpark, I took the EV but didn't feel it necessary to waste folks time showing it off :D

If it was like the one I went to there were special invite cars in the inner ring more general interesting arrivals stuff parked outside, and then general boring car parking.

I don’t know the setup at that event but the last few seconds of the vid seemed to show the outer interesting parking bit.
