If they can actually sell it for $5k then it does seem like a great looking commuter.

I'm sure it'll be at least £5k over here, but a simple, light-ish (that's light ish, by bike standards, innit?) reasonably pokey and reasonably well priced commuter bike is something that could open the market up a bit.
