Have you driven a CVT? Tried it in a CT200h and an Auris, and it is a very odd experience.Shlergen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 8:57 pm Been looking at Lexi, Gs300 and is250's in particular. 300 seems to be the one to go for but not many about. Yeah I've heard they alternative but reliable. Seems more interesting than a Mondeo with relatively low running costs minus VED. Will go try one.DeskJockey wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:46 pmHave you driven a CVT? That's good. I couldn't get over the lack of gears. The sound is all wrong, but I'm sure you can get used to it. And the GS is probably a lot quieter than what I triedShlergen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:50 pmYeah I've heard they alternative but reliable. Re: Today’s want
I saw one one the “metal” for the first time late 2001 - it looked impossibly pumped and exotic. Lovely.
(And yes - Galaxie quip was under appreciated )

Still very much at the top of my lottery win list. They really are just a completely unique looking car.

I drove one at Jonathan Palmer Motorsport when they were new. Once I'd got in, it was epic. Getting out was fun
Re: Today’s want
the S1 Exige is definitely one of my all time favourite cars - it's proportions are just so right. my lottery garage would 100% feature one with a crazy spec Type R engine.
Re: Today’s want
Love the Exige S1, but I think I am now at an age where cars like Exige are too hardcore for me.
Won’t be in my Euromillions garage.

Really into this. Would put smaller wheels on for a bit more of a muscle car look but apart from that it’s pretty tidy

1968 Maserati Mexico. I'm not sure I've ever seen one before.

Re: Today’s want
That is lovely! Just finished the latest Evo and they're very complimentary about the MC20. Had me thinking about a classic Maserati to add to the list of cars I can't afford.

Exige S1 was one of the shortest car ownerships I've had at 8 months, so I think that says it all for me Save yourself the cash and get Dan to convert you an Elise...you'll even have the benefit of being able to take the roof off to hear it better.
