Ha, just posted this in Random thread too. Same age as my Civic, and same model my Ex had. Fun little cars but still not a patch on a DC2 IMHO.

Mate of mine in NZ had a 172 when I was over there back in 2012. I drove it on the South Island for a few weeks, they are a great little car.
Barry is correct though, the DC2 is much more special.

I drove the Clio 182 Cup quite a lot, while I owned the DC2 (did I mention that?) and I must be missing something as it just felt like huge grip and growly midrange to me, nowhere near the adjustable chassis the teggy has. Huge fun to throw down a B road don't get me wrong, and no doubt same pace in real world terms, but just not as engaging for me.
I actually rate the 106Gti higher, that was a sublime little car.

Correct. The 182 was one of the cars I tried after the Saxo VTS ( same as a 106gti to all intents and purposes ) but I couldn't really get on with the seating position. Felt like I was sitting on it rather than in it. I missed this video when released. Obviously I love it, it's a lightweight lotus, but mainly I love that retrimmed steering wheel
