Mobydick
Re: Mobydick
I have no idea how I feel about this.
Re: Mobydick
I prefer it to those silly Ferrari homages that were released recently and its comparitively a snip at £700k.
Can't help thinking that even based on a GT2 RS though its going to be a bit wet compared to the original given that had 845hp, loadsa lag and 970kg
Still, looks pretty ace IMO.

Re: Mobydick
Is James Attwood (article author) related to Richard '415k Peugeot 405' Attwood? I must know
Re: Mobydick
I never knew about old Attwood's Peugeot.
Re: Mobydick
Why not make a heavily modded 991 GT2RS?
But why then turn it into a ModTro pastiche harks back with a nod to the homage to the design cues taken from the original 935?
Dear marketing chumps - PLEASE LET CAR DESIGNERS DESIGN NEW CARS

Re: Mobydick
Nah - I like it but it should be fully stripped and 900hp.

Re: Mobydick
Looks shit. Either make a new one exactly like the old one or make one to the exact rules that the 935 raced under but with modern materials, tooling and processes.

Re: Mobydick
It stays accurate to the original in that it looks like a 911 with a terrible bodykit grafted on it. If that was made by Mansory people would be ripping their cocks off but as it’s Porsche...
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Mobydick
I think a modern 911gt1 would have been a better proposition, much more desirable. This just seems like Porsche have thought “how can we get loads of money out of people by not spending much on r&d? Bodykit- yup, race car parts bin shit- yup. Road legal testing? Nah don’t bother”
Re: Mobydick
and what’s wrong with that? We now have a badass special car that exists that didn’t before. There’s plenty of road and race cars in their line up if you want something specific.jamcg wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:42 pm I think a modern 911gt1 would have been a better proposition, much more desirable. Re: Mobydick
Wasted opportunity, should have been a road legal RSR rather than trying to profit from the past. At least the RSR would have actual motorsport pedigree with ties to Le Mans rather than that thing.
