^ That seat's been clenched for all 25k...

Explosive Newt, Marv; yep, the sort of thing to do in someone else's car, I'm surprised they were ok with it (assuming they knew  ).

The Cerbera's profile is still 8-) Alas I've not heard Neil's :(

The standard wheels actually look like the ones in the video - but most were sold on the 19" turbines. The turbines might be handed for each side of the car but I absolutely hate them, so you can imagine I love the ones in this video. And the colour. But I'd have an AMG GT over this, no question; obviously inspired by the SLR in looks but for some reason much more appealing to me: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 5132565913

The AMG GT always reminds me of this

The SLR seems like a lot of car for the money these days but it still has the same problem it's always had, not special enough to hang with the Carrera GT etc and not quite usable enough to be an option compared to more mainstream newer cars.

I'd definitely have a GT over an SLR. The SLR always looked a bit daft to me.

I think it's a bit of a Merc thing - my CLS might be a 7-sp but it's still quite relaxed. But it's never jerky and suits the car; away from rest or coming to a stop it's vastly more refined than the ZF 8-sp, Aisin 8-sp and Audi's 7-sp DSG.

Seems once you approach 50 you appreciate Merc's way of doing things

Yeah the Merc 7 Speed in the CLS and the E350 cdi was definitely a smoother box that my 8 Speed in the XF, slower to change up and down, and didn't lock up as fast, I think that's why it feels smoother.

I’m sure that’s a big part of it - takes a moment to get moving when you mash the throttle rather than jumping off the line like a stabbed rat. You just get used to it and press the pedal earlier.

Doesn’t seem to harm economy though.

I'm still not sold on that green but I'm reserving judgement until we see the whole car in it. Unbelievable amount of time going into all this stuff though.

Yeah, incredible finish for an engine bay. I think the colour looks great, I'd be tempted to put a dark green or tan vinyl roof on it if it was mines.

The bronze wheels would look great on a black one; I’m not sure on them with red paint.

Something I’d not considered; I’m a massive Alpine fan so I’d have an A110 over the Yaris, but they probably are in a similar place in the market. The Yaris seems to have captured the public’s imagination better. Would love to read a back to back test.

I love the bronzed wheels. I think that should've been an option colour from the factory.

Nice Father’s Day theme but I’m not sure it really added much. I wonder what his son does for a living.

Agreed the wheel colour should have been a factory option. For me the Alpine and Yaris have different roles, so I don't know that if I was considering one I'd consider the other, but a comparison test is a good idea :) I wonder if the GR has been compared with the S1 yet; I know it's long off sale but it's about the most similar sized recent 4wd hatch.
Wrt the video I forgot it was Fathers' Day for that angle
