I'm sure Toyota don't care given they can't allocate them fast enough in the UK

https://media.toyota.co.uk/new-waiting- ... t-success/
Stuart Sanders, Toyota GB Director of Communications and Product, said: “The success of GR Yaris has been unprecedented. The huge public demand has resulted in all the new cars destined for the UK having now been snapped up for the coming 18 months. This isn’t the end of the story, however, as we are opening a new waiting list from next week so that prospective customers can put their name forward to be first in line when the next allocation of vehicles is confirmed.
That's from July 8th, IE a couple of weeks ago.

Thats right - when does yours arrive Mr Motoring armchair fan?
If I had £30k to drop on a car I'd get something older and shitter tbh.

I see most influencers are using theirs less and less. Maybe they arent that brilliant after all
Theres only so many videos people can make about a car:

Initial purchase and first impressions...
Modifications...
Road trips...
Comparison against competition...
Issues...
Then that's about it, so then all that's left is selling it.

And repeat for next car.
I've seen noone do a road trip on one yet - was it exciting? Get much luggage in ? How many Mpgs?
maybe you should ask one of the influencers you're following to do one.

I would have to be bothered to make a request. For me these are good but no classic hero car that its been made out to be.

I think his problem is he likes buying a bargain, they're pretty much sheds...he probably plans for it to be a small resto project then things spiral out of control from there.

Hopefully the revenue from the views covers the restoration costs!
ZedLeg wrote: Tue Jul 27, 2021 12:54 pm Ah yeah, I remember that now.

TBF, there is usually a good reason for buying the things he buys even if they're a bit sheddy. The Jag with a manual is a very cool oddity. The only one he doesn't really have an excuse for is the Artic Rolls but even that has a good story now.
Wasn't the Artic Rolls a late night probably drunk ebay purchase?

Exactly this. It's perfectly normal to make new panels from scratch on specialist cars from this period and is always the case when it comes to restoring a Zagato. The great thing is we still have people with the skills to do this here in the UK, which is why our restorers are so highly regarded around the world. Looking at the comments on here and on YouTube, it seems many people aren't aware making new panels is common practice.

The previous bare-metal restoration was done in 2002 by someone not skilled in panel fabrication but very skilled in applying filler and paint! As I've said many times before, I was fully aware of this bodgery at time of purchase and was going to walk away from buying it but then discovered the car's link to my past in the history file. I decided to bid a very low amount (approx half asking price) after explaining how rough the car was under its shiny paintwork and ended up buying the car and, even now, I'm very happy I did so.

Not Harry’s Farm, but when I heard the combine harvester out I had to go and watch for a bit. We’re about 20 miles from Harry. Always enjoy his harvest videos.
