Re: Harry’s Garage
I think I’d still take a 456gt over any of the modern front engines Ferrari’s.
I do quite like the FF or whatever it’s replacement is called.

I never saw the appeal of the 456, it had weird proportions.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 1:07 pm I think I’d still take a 456gt over any of the modern front engines Ferrari’s.

I’ve liked most of the modern front engined ones - 550,575,599,F12, I think the 812 is a little American looking.

Explain please Rich!
Re: Harry’s Garage
the front is a bit like a 355 (good) but with a weird long low elongated bonnet, then it has a weird big waist and huge droopy arse. I never liked it.
Re: Harry’s Garage
the problem is that black alloys are the modification of choice for a certain category of car “enthusiasts” which ruins it.
Also you’re all wrong, best looking front engine Ferrari 2+2 would be the 612, the best looking front engine 2 seater would be the 599. The FF hatchback is an abortion.

if it helps Mik, I think your Evora is the best colour combo I’ve seen.

The 612? The car where the wheels are in the wrong places?Mito Man wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 3:36 pm the problem is that black alloys are the modification of choice for a certain category of car “enthusiasts” which ruins it.

Re: Harry’s Garage
The 612 just reminds me of a 456 with an extra foot or two bonnet behind the front wheels and ugly lights.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I think the 612 is gorgeous, jaw-droppingly elegant and probably relatively diminutive amongst today’s traffic (I’ve never had a good look at one in the wild)

I’m glad there’s at least one other person on here with fine taste

Re: Harry’s Garage
When I picked my 911 up from Dorset Sports Cars (nearly 4 years ago now!) there was one inside the showroom in Rosso Corsa. I remember thinking it looked awful in red and enormous.
More recently I drove past one in Herne Hill which was a much more appropriate colour (grey I think) and didn't think it looked as large when on the road. Good enough that I started looking at what they were selling for

There is something a little old money about the 612. Like it’s only bought by people who use their cars daily.
Dave!
Re: Harry’s Garage
I’m a big fan of big V12 coupes in general but I like Ferraris in particular. I don’t think there’s one I don’t like from the Daytona forward.
Not as into the older ones but I’m not really into cars from before the late 60s in general.
