Sorry, I asked and they’re not insured for spectators.
Left over crest; tightens.

A/wow, I thought at least 5mins before this was poo-pooed. Meh. I don’t see how a vulcanised patch is really any safer?
2/it’s at least 100 more than 600.

Yes but have you considered that it is double(!) of 350?

I have a kit somewhere but it’s a “get you to a repair shop” fix and you have to slow down after it’s fitted.mik wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 11:05 am Evora’s TPMS showed a 3psi drop on the left rear mid-week. Pumped that jam back up, but it was exactly identical on Friday. Hmm.
Spotted the culprit, so it was time to break out the TyrePlugSysteme3000 on Saturday.
Such a doddle. Screw came out cleanly with a posidrive head driver, dropped the pressure to about 10psi in order to maintain sufficient structure for pokey-saw-saw, followed by gloopy-stick and PULL.
The longest part of the process was due to a nob called mik insisting that he use the (dual cylinder) foot pump to reinflate it. A 285/30/20 may well be low profiles, but it takes quite a lot of air - like over 700 pumps - the clip popped off the tyre valve as I finished and was red hot*. I think something may have melted inside it. Bollox.
* possible artistic licence.
It’s a small pointy burr thing on a T handle which opens the hole slightly, then you push through the gooey string with a mushroomed end and pull back through, then cut off the excess.

The merc pinged up a brake warning a few weeks back. I had a quick look at the pads and there was plenty of meat, but the disks were lipped and had just started catching the wear sensor.
Euros wanted £200 for a reasonable branded set. Ordered febi drilled disks and pads for a whopping £72 delivered to my door. Bit of a bargain for 330mm disks I thought.
It’s a big heavy auto bus and gets driven spiritedly, I think the set on there have lasted something like 25,000 miles which isn’t too bad.

Took the 86 for a service at the weekend, and while in there asked them to look over the front end after I had a minor bump in traffic into the back of a Beetle a few weeks earlier - plan being to inform whether to lodge a claim on my insurance to fix my car. $3000 of damage to the Beetle and the 86 suffered no more than a bent number plate.
Total cost of service inc. change of diff oil and brake fluid just shy of $600/ 300GBP.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Had a spare couple of hours this weekend so decided to get a couple of jobs done on the 928. Fixed the horn I broke (mis-aligned horn ring), straightened the steering wheel and tried to fix the bonnet alignment (it sat high at the back on the left hand side). Turns out aligning bonnets is a dark and mystical art that I have no skill in. After several failed attempts, I decided to take a practical approach - I unscrewed the latching mechanism, loosened the hinge screws sufficiently that the would allow the bonnet to move under pressure, but hold it in place normally. Then I closed the bonnet, gave it a shove down on the high side, then raised the bonnet and nipped up the bolts. It's now much better than it was but I'm going to leave it to the body shop to sort out properly when it goes in for its respray.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Got a link to this system? No spare in the TVR and I have a can of foam but I'd like something better. The bacon strips that seem to be everywhere, I've tried them on the bike with what I call limited success in that it got me home, but it needed a full repair then with a proper plug/patch. I'd like a proper plug system really for the car and not bother with the bacon strips temporay method.

Today someone spotted and pointed out that the last three letters of the registration on The Vito:
Stand for “private hire vehicle”, i.e. a taxi
I’m pretty sure it’s been used for airport runs in the past. More than just coincidence ??

US-spec bumper insert recess is (IIRC) 12” wide.

Although I’ll probably stick to the legally sized / spaced ones 99% of the time

Re: Your fleet running reports
Past couple of nice evenings have given me a bit of time to firstly fit the autofold module on the L200, pretty straight forward removal of trim and then finding the 2 wires for the locking controls, 40 mins and done. Works nicely and I'm about finished on the L200 jobs for now, unless I decide to get it mapped.
Fitted the speakers supplied by SJ to the Corsa. Wow, I've never seen something so fucked (the originals)! The foam surround was split and disintegrating 3/4 of the way around causing the cone to move sideways on extension and hence the chuff as the coil caught on the magnet. The passenger side wasn't much better and only took a light press for it to split itself (experiment as they were both going in the bin). Kenwoods fitted and sounding much better.
Might have to buy some decent upgrades for the combo and look at the rear ones in the corsa now too

I've just realised - no helmets, yet they get fussy about spectators. Should have said I was your pit crew and flashed my MSA licence
